ARTISANS

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines the word "Artisan" as 

"a person that produces something in limited quantities often using traditional methods."

 

I have been practicing Woodturning for a few decades, probably inspired by this man that made me a spade on a lathe when I was 8 or 9 years old. I was fascinated by the wood miraculously being shaped by his tool.

There seem to be no limit at what can be created on a lathe from very fine artwork to objects for everyday use. I enjoy this last category hoping  that what I make will be used and passed down .
