David Olinger

David Olinger discovered the beauty of wood in his high school wood shop class. Fast forward 44 years to retirement from his trade as a commercial plumber in 2004 and the rediscovery of his love of woodworking. With time to learn new techniques, attend symposiums across the western states and add special tooling to his 750 sq. ft workshop in California he is enjoying exploring everything wood. He especially likes working on both open and closed segmented models where thousands of pieces come together into bowls and vases showcasing the beautiful colors of raw wood. The bandsaw boxes, yarn bowls, recipe boxes, kaleidoscopes and so many more are all made by hand, one piece at a time.
