John Hummel

I have been taking photographs since I was 7 years old when my parents gave me a camera for Christmas. I have had a life-long fascination with the beauty of the world as seen through the lens of my camera. My photography has been one of the greatest gifts in my life.  It has allowed me to see the unique beauty of the world around me no matter where my life has led me. One of my great loves has been the opportunity to share that incredible beauty with other through my images.
In the early part of my life I worked with medium format black and white film, loving the inter-play of light and shadow that black and white imaging provides. in 2001, with the advent of digital photography, I added color images to my repertoire, loving the richness of color’s variations that nature has to offer. Today, I continue to work in both black and white and color formats using the latest digital technology and software.
The body of my work has been in the area of nature with a focus on landscapes, seascapes and wildlife. Being blessed with the opportunity to travel frequently has allowed me to create a broad cross-section of “favorite” images to share in our gallery.
