Rick Strobaugh

I got my first real photography training as a police officer who was assigned to do forensic investigations and photography along with my Patrol duties. I eventually was assigned to be in charge of the CSI Division as a Detective and had to photograph major crime scenes, dead bodies, autopsies and fatal traffic accidents. I also teach Advanced Crime Scene Investigations at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks.

I used that training and turned  to photographing more pleasing subjects such as landscapes, wildlife and macro photos. I travel the western states hiking and shooting photos. I am often miles up into the mountains by myself exploring and shooting photos.

I have been a member of Redlands Camera Club for many years and have become a better photographer through my membership there and exposure to different training. I think the years of crime scene investigations helps me see more interesting photo compositions.
