ARTISANS

Steve Vernon was born and raised in Ontario Canada. His early artistic influences were The Group of Seven and Thom Thompson. While planning on attending the Ontario College of Art for fine art after high school, his love of live theater had him enrolling at Ryerson University to study Technical Theater, with emphasis on set lighting and design. After his first year Steve left school to pursue a carrier in the Film business and an eventual move to Los Angeles.

Steve worked his way up to the position of Director of Photography where over a thirty year career he shot multiple films, TV shows and over 500 commercials. He has won many awards and the prestigious honor of full Canadian Society of Cinematographers Honorarium.

Upon retiring Steve moved to Big Bear to enjoy his love of four season and to get back to his original love of fine art.
